The Tenuta di Fessina winery is the work of Silvia Maestrelli who moved from Milan to Sicily in 2006. She fell in love with Etna and the wines there and began the hard work of becoming one of the first women to open a winery on the volcano. She also wanted to protect the history and culture of Mt. Etna, utilizing old vines, ancient techniques and crafting uniquely feminine wines from the vibrant, volcanic soils. The Etna Bianco Erse opens with rich citrus and wild herb hints, sage and tangerine are layered on the palate with mineral and salt air echoes. Flint and graphite on the finish leave the mouth salivating for more.
