Freire Lobo Dao Vigno Tinto 2020
A blend of organically-farmed Jaen (Mencia,) Tinta Roriz, Touriga
Nacional, and Alfrocheiro, Elisa’s Vigno Tinto is a labor of love. Jaen
and Tinta Roriz are picked together about a week and a half before
Touriga Nacional and Alfrocheiro. Two separate fermentations are made in
open-top steel vats (after foot tread for gentle extraction.) Dark
berries, lavender, cassis, and spice on the nose introduce juicy red and
black cherry on the palate with savory herbal notes and minerals.
Perfectly integrated, fine-grained tannins and fresh berry acidity round
out the refreshing, lingering finish. Crushable and serious at the same
time, drink now and over the next few years.
