Francois Villard Crozes-Hermitage "Certitude" 2021
This beauty is culled from three different sites on the Plateau of
Chassis in the village of Mercurol. The wines of Villard have had a
shift -- gone are the days of new oak and super-ripeness. Now, Francois
is a much finer and gentler touch which is clearly evident with the
perfumed violets, blackberry, thyme, olive and cassis notes ride on a
lithe frame. This is a lovely red to enjoy now through 2029.
