Husband and wife team, Josephin Cramer and Jarko Peranen, founded this winery in 2002. It is a sprawling striking piece of land that lies in Panzano in the Conca d'Oro along the sweetspot of Chianti Classico. Their limestone soils and elevation over 300 meters give them tremendous raw material with which to work...and boy do they work it perfectly. Open top stainless steel fermenters start the process and the wine is raised in 50% cement vats and 50% used barriques for aging. So pretty and pure, this blend of 90% Sangiovese with 10% Merlot showcases black fruits and fine herb notes turning more kirschy on the palate with a slight hint of raspberry tea. This is beautiful, classy Tuscan red to be enjoyed now through 2028.
