Vino & Vinyl Tastings Start Again Saturday The Ultimate Muscadet from Marc Olivier

It doesn't get much more classic than recent Rock-N-Roll Hall of Fame Inductees, the Foo Fighters "Colour And The Shape" featuring such hits as "Monkey Wrench", "Everlong" and my personal favorite, "My Hero". It's a phenomenal rock masterpiece that we will have on all day while we taste the following... Also, today we offer what I consider the absolute best Muscadet EVER, the Domaine de la Pepiere Muscadet Sevre et Maine "Clisson" 2019, a single vineyards stunner that is one of the most AGE WORTHY wines of the appellation. Made by the iconic, Marc Olivier, this is an astounding, vivacious, and minerally wine that is sheer brilliance with oysters and all things fish and/or fowl. Check it out!
ORGANIC With this release, Marc Ollivier has produced a super-cuvee in conjunction with a couple of other high-quality producers trying to raise the level of Muscadet. Each must use vines of minimum 25 years of age, but in the case of Pepiere, most are over 50 years. In addition, the vines need to be planted on granite soils which encompass only 5% of the appellation, followed by 24 months of aging on its lees and one year of aging in bottle before release. Ollivier chose his Clisson vineyard to create this wine and the result is amazing. This is a seriously age-worthy Muscadet that has vibrancy and great complexity, with textured Asian pear, citrus, sea salt, and mineral resolve. Do yourself a favor and lay this wine away.
